Jacob Gilbert, Esq | Company Counsel

Jacob Gilbert is a passionate and strategic litigator who brings a deep commitment to justice and client advocacy to Company Counsel. Licensed in New Jersey and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Jake has built a reputation for managing high-volume caseloads with precision, empathy, and tenacity.

Before joining Company Counsel, Jake served as an Associate Attorney at Costello, Mains & Silverman, LLC, where he oversaw a portfolio of more than 80 active employment and civil rights cases. From intake to resolution, Jake handled every aspect of litigation, including client communication, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. His work focused on whistleblower claims, wage and hour disputes, and discrimination cases under statutes such as NJLAD, CEPA, and FMLA.

Jake began his legal career clerking for the Honorable Jennifer Harlacher Sibum in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, where he drafted judicial opinions and attended hearings and trials. He also gained valuable experience as a law clerk at LaRosa Law P.C. and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, and previously worked as a commercial litigation paralegal at White and Williams LLP.

Jake earned his J.D. from Rutgers Law School, where he served as Senior Articles Editor for the Women’s Rights Law Reporter and was a quarterfinalist in the Hunter Moot Court oral argument competition. He also holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice, with distinction, from Temple University.

Known for his enthusiasm, integrity, and collaborative spirit, Jake is deeply committed to lifelong learning and continuous improvement. He is actively involved in community service, volunteering with the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society and previously at the local aquarium—where he fondly recalls working with a 30-year-old penguin who commanded respect from his peers.
